Do you have a child who is struggling with a stressful life event and is in need of a little Camp Korey spirit? We’re offering home visits, hospital visits, and care packages in the mail! Let us know what you are interested in by filling out this form. Questions? View our Frequently Asked Questions below for details.
1.Who is eligible for these outreach services?
Any child between 7-16 years old who has attended Camp Korey at least once either during a Residential Summer Camp session or Family Weekend and is going through a stressful life event (medical complications, hospital stay, changes in family, bullying, social isolation, etc.).
2. What is a Home Visit?
Two Camp Korey staff will come to your home or designated meeting area to bring camp joy directly to your child. Home visits are two hours in length and are tailored to meet the needs of each camper. Visits will include age and developmentally appropriate activities. These visits are designed to bring the fun and spirit of Camp Korey to campers who are struggling with a stressful event in their lives. A parent or legal guardian over the age of 18 must be home for the duration of the visit.
To receive a visit, you must live or designate a meeting area within a 60-mile radius of Camp Korey. Currently, we would appreciate visits taking place on Mondays between 8 am – 5 pm. If another weekday is necessary for you, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
3. What does a hospital visit consist of?
If your child is currently staying in the hospital in Seattle, Tacoma, or Portland, 1-2 Camp Korey staff members from our Camp To You team or our program team will come visit! We will bring activities and the Camp Korey spirit to take your child’s mind off of being in the hospital and instead focused on the joy and fun of camp.
5. Can my family receive more than one service at the same time?
Requests for more than one service at the same time will be determined based on the resources Camp Korey has available. If you are interested in more than one service, you will need to submit separate requests.
6. Can my family receive a service more than once?
If your family receives a service, you may still make future requests. However, it will depend on the resources Camp Korey has available. We will make every effort to first serve families who have not yet received a service.
7. How do I request a service or find out more information?
Simply fill out the request form and provide a brief description of your need. Choose your top choice of services from the drop-down menus and click the “Submit” button. Our team will then be in touch with you by phone to discuss more in-depth and determine how we can best serve your child.
