Get to know some of the special activities that happen here at Camp Korey.
Universally Accessible Ropes Course
Camp Korey has a specially-constructed ropes course that is one of only a handful in the U.S. to be accessible to all. Thanks to a sturdy ramp, every child can walk or roll out onto the course and immediately be 20 feet in the air! From there, the course features __ high elements, including a suspension bridge, swinging logs, zipline and a rope net. Campers are securely fastened with a harness and rope at all times and heavily supervised, but still maintain the feeling of freedom up in the air. The ropes course is where many of our campers spend their proudest moments at Camp Korey. With great courage and support, they conquer their fear of heights and uncertainty about their abilities, and find success high in the trees!
Pet Therapy
Each year, campers get the opportunity to pet, groom, walk, and relax with certified therapy pets during their Camp session. This opportunity to interact with trained animals in a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment is very special, and has become a very important part of our Summer program.
Interested in Becoming Part of our Pet Therapy Program?
All teams must be registered with: Delta Society, Therapy Dogs International, or Therapy Dogs Inc. For details of the therapy program and to schedule an interview please contact Diane Rich, our pet therapy coordinator. For those not yet registered with one of these organizations and interested in an assessment as to your team’s potential for therapy service, please contact Diane to schedule an evaluation. If training is needed to help prepare for the therapy testing, Diane provides either private training or a therapy prep class to help ready a team to perform the required skills and aptitude exercises and help pass the test. If the team is ready for testing, Diane is happy to recommend evaluators.

Adaptive Equestrian

Camp Korey’s equestrian program is a highlight of the week for many campers. Some have never ridden a horse before—or thought it possible due to their physical constraints—and gain great confidence and joy from their experience. With a full support team and the encouragement of counselors and cabin mates, campers challenge themselves and have fun! Campers who choose not to ride are still able to interact with the gentle horses in the program through horse painting and grooming.
Arts Program
Combining historical art styles with traditional camp craft projects, Camp Korey’s arts program encourages learning, creativity, and expression. Find out more in the video below:
