We are so excited to announce that Camp Korey has found our new Camp Director, Joshua Mayer!
Read on to learn more about Joshua in his own words:
I began serving differently-abled children and those with severe medical issues in 1995, and it has been my calling ever since. I worked as a special education teacher, camp counselor, camp cabin leader, camp program staff, and for the most recent six years as camp director. I LOVE what camp provides for children. I love leading and having a positive impact. Smiles on the faces of children at camp is what drives me.
I believe in lifelong learning. I hold my Bachelor in Education, Special Education and my Master in Education, Educational Leadership and I am currently pursuing my Certification in Non Profit Management.
My wife and I have three boys ages 9, 4 and almost 1. They are an active friendly bunch of boys and they love growing up at camp. The boys’ favorite activity is dance parties – they can’t help showing off their dance moves when good music is playing!
Fun fact: Over the years my interests have been wide ranging – tractor driving (personal favorite), skydiving, horseback riding, climbing, rollerblading, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding, singing, dance, sketching and jazz trumpet playing.
Please join us in welcoming Joshua to the Camp Korey team! We are so excited to have him on board!
