Hospital Outreach Program (HOP) brings the hopeful, playful spirit of Camp Korey to children and families in the hospital setting.

By offering unique, creative and developmentally appropriate activities and interactions, we help to restore joy and laughter in times that are heavy with fear, stress and uncertainty. We work collaboratively with hospital staff to enhance, augment or support existing programs focused on improving the quality of life during treatment. HOP continues to bring the incredible joy and fun of Camp Korey’s summer programming to children in need year-round. Like all our programs, HOP is available to hospitals and families at no cost.
The benefit of HOP to pediatric patients is immediately obvious when you step into the room during outreach activities: this is camp in action, with all the requisite joy, comfort and laughter.
Why Hospital Outreach Program (HOP)?
- To design and deliver “camp‐like” activities that will help children who are hospitalized express their creativity, gain self‐confidence, and interact meaningfully with others.
- To provide former campers an opportunity to reconnect with their camp experience.
- To introduce the concept of an onsite camp experience to potential campers and their families.
- To raise awareness about Camp Korey among physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals
Where Can You Find Us?
Camp Korey’s HOP currently operates at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Doernbecher Pediatric Hospital in Portland, Oregon. We seek new partnerships and opportunities as our resources expand and needs are identified. HOP runs year-round, 1-2 times per month in each hospital site.
